More and more organisations are using Employee Assistance Programmes to show they are mindful of their employees’ mental health and well-being.

One in ten employees take time off work for depression. But there are many issues that affect everyone from time to time, not necessarily issues directly related to work pressures or stress.

An employee may suddenly find they are having to cope with bereavement, relationship difficulties, children leaving home or low self-esteem as well as tackling the demands of their job.

Schemes cost nothing to set up. Costs are only incurred if and when counselling is provided to employees.
