Who we are

The Counselling Centre in Tunbridge Wells was established in 1989 and is a non-profit making charity providing high quality affordable one-to-one counselling to adults in Kent and East Sussex.  The Centre is located at the top of the town near St John’s church.

The Counselling Centre has a good reputation for the service it provides and in recent years the 45 counsellors at the Centre have provided more than 3000 hours a year to individuals and couples in the local area, who have either been referred to us by local doctors or have referred themselves.  Our counsellors are all trained (or are in training) to diploma level and beyond and are experienced in a wide range of issues.

Our counsellors are supervised and practise within the framework for ethical practice of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) of which they are all individual members.  They have regular supervision - not just as a BACP requirement - but to ensure the standards of counselling at the Centre are maintained at the highest level.

The Counselling Centre is an organisational member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and is a BACP accredited service.

The Counselling Centre is a member institution of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC).

The Counselling Centre is also a member of the National Counselling Network (NCN), and a member of the Counselling Directory.
