Cost of counselling

We are a self-financing, non-profit making charity.

Our charitable aim is to make individual counselling affordable according to one’s ability to pay and no-one is excluded from counselling because they cannot afford to pay the full cost of counselling.

Initial assessment consultation.

There is a one-off fee for the initial assessment of £50.  We are able to offer concessions for those who find this difficult because they are unemployed, in serious hardship or on low income.

Counselling.

The ongoing counselling fee will be discussed at the initial assessment consultation but will be arranged between you and your counsellor at the first session.  You will only be asked to pay what you can realistically afford.

To enable us to achieve our aims we operate a sliding scale of fees up to a maximum of £50 and have lower fees for people who are unemployed or in very difficult financial circumstances.

In recognition of the commitment that both parties make to the counselling process and to maintain continuity, the session-time will be held throughout the on-going work and the weekly fee will normally be payable whether or not you are able to attend.
